Lingampally schools under Swachh Pathashala scanner

The Cyient Foundation (CSR arm of Cyient Ltd.) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Telangana State government to introduce the Swachh Telangana-Swachh Pathashala campaign. The campaign will provide Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities in 54 government schools, impacting more than 18,000 students in Lingampally mandal in Ranga Reddy district.

The initiative goes beyond the 11 schools currently adopted by the Cyient Foundation, and will be replicated further in other mandals subsequently.BVR Mohan Reddy, founder, Cyient Foundation, said, “We are delighted to participate in the initiative to help school children in our neighbourhood gain access to WASH which is a fundamental human right and essential to life, health and dignity.

We are committed to this mission and are inviting other corporate entities to join us to create a bigger and more inclusive impact on our society.” Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu nominated Mohan Reddy as a brand ambassador of Swachh Bharat campaign from Telangana in January and Reddy took a pledge to make government schools in Hyderabad Swachh Pathashalas.

The key initiatives introduced as part of the Swachh Telangana-Swachh Pathashala include building new toilets where needed, renovating old not-in-use toilets, establishing water supply and providing supplies to clean the toilets, appointing and fully subsidising the cleaning staff cost in all 54 government schools in Lingampally and driving more girls to schools.
