City stinks as civic staff strikes. Over 5000 municipal employees including 1000 outsourcing staff struck work on Friday seeking solution to their demands including hike in wages. The municipal employees organised a rally from Municipal corporation office to Sub-collector’s office.

Garbage clearing affected in the city on Friday as the municipal employees launched agitation. Though the municipal officials claim some employees are attending for duties garbage remained on the roads at several places in the absence of municipal staff.
The problem was more in one town area where the garbage remained uncleared at several places. The employees are demanding for hike in wages, better working conditions and weekly off for the past several years. Though the government assured to resolve their grievances in the past fail to fulfill their demands.
