Bonalu festivities colourful as ever

A bevy of devotees, politicians and VIPs thronged to the Lal Darwaza Mahankali Temple, the Akkanna Madanna Temple at Hari Bowli in Shah Ali Banda and other temples on the occasion of Bonalu on Sunday.

The Potharaju, with a whip in his hand swaying to the music, was an integral part of the celebrations. The two-day festivities will conclude on Monday with Rangam, the oracle prediction at Akkanna Madanna Temple, followed by a combined procession on a caparisoned elephant, carrying 'ghatam' of the Goddess Mahankali.
