Hyderabad: Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday claimed that the government would spend Rs 20,000 crore to develop infrastructure facilities and transform Hyderabad into a global city. ’Our intention is to provide better connectivity, facilities and infrastructure to the people of the twin cities and the state on a whole,’ he said.

KTR was participating in several developmental programs including foundation stone for construction of a flyover, Japanese Park inauguration near KBR Park in Banjara Hills and multi level flyover at Mind Space area in the city here. Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, Home Minister N Narsimha Reddy, Ministers T Srinivas Yadav, P Mahender Reddy, MPs K Keshava Rao, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and others attended the program.
Speaking on the occasion, he sought to know about the problems of GHMC workers. KTR reiterated that Hyderabad is witnessing fast pace and rapid growth after achieving statehood of Telangana. Admitting that Hyderabad is facing heavy traffic problems, he said that the government will spend adequate funds to construct multi-level flyovers, level separators, junctions and bridges to pave way for people.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has prepared plans to make the city a global city with all facilities. KT Rama Rao said that credit of addressing power problems during summer goes to their government. He exhorted the leaders to keep aside politics and come forward for the development of the city and the state.
The leaders cutting across their party lines should come together for developing Telangana State, KTR asserted. The IT Minister also asked the Union Minister Dattatreya and other BJP leaders to make efforts to bring more funds for Telangana.
Dattatreya said that the Centre will provide necessary financial assistance to make Hyderabad a global city.
‘I will talk to the ministers concerned to get more funds for the state development’, he said. Mahender Reddy also spoke.
