Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao expressed serious displeasure at Nalgonda district Collector Satyanarayana Reddy and other officials for the bore-well tragedy in which a two-year old girl Shanvi died despite carrying out rescue operations for about 12 hours.

The incident took place at Vallala village under Shaligowraram mandal in the district. The efforts to rescue the girl failed and her body was handed over to the parents. Knowing about the incident, Rama Rao rang up Satyanarayana Reddy and pulled him up for not taking immediate steps to close the bore-wells dug up and left open in the district.

He also directed the Collector to file a criminal case against the bore-well owner and take stringent measures against the officials responsible. Rama Rao said the State government had already asked the official machinery to take steps in this regard and there was no response yet.
