Hyderabad: As many as 40 Home Guards of the enforcement cell of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) are left without any increments though the State government had issued an order last year.

The State government had issued a Government Order Ms No 29 on April 30, 2015 for the enhancement of daily duty allowance (DDA) of the Home Guards across the State. Though the orders were issued, HMDA has not implemented it from a long time. A Home Guard on the condition of anonymity said that they had requested the authority many times but no positive response was initiated.

They also said that the delay was done intentionally by the junior staff of the accounts and administrative departments seeking extra benefits. “The authority is pending the Rs nine lakh of remuneration amount,” they said. The enforcement cell of HMDA includes one Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), inspector and Home Guards who attend complaints related to lakes and HMDA lands in metropolitan limits.
