Oceans are most important part of earth. Oceans provide most of the oxygen we breathe. Stressing on the need to save oceans with the theme “Healthy Oceans Healthy Planet”, the students of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet observed World Day to Combat Desertification and Droughts on Friday. 

Hyderabad: Oceans are most important part of earth. Oceans provide most of the oxygen we breathe. Stressing on the need to save oceans with the theme “Healthy Oceans Healthy Planet”, the students of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet observed World Day to Combat Desertification and Droughts on Friday.

“Students were informed about the causes of ocean pollution - plastic pollution. It is crucial that people are informed and made aware of the importance of the ocean to our lives, so that they can grow up caring and protecting our oceans”, Sudha Srinivasan, High school teacher.

Students of Classes V and VI made posters on the topic “A glimpse of Ocean Life” and collage on nests of birds. Students from Primary wing made eco friendly bags while Class VII emphasised on our surroundings must be kept clean to prevent diseases.

The senior students presented power point presentations on “Massive Forest Fire on Hilly areas – causes, effects and prevention” and stories of Conversion of barren land to agricultural land.
