As a part of Telangana State Formation Day celebrations, various hotels in the city conducted Telangana food festival. The best among them were given Telangana Tourism Food Festival Awards at an event held at Pranahitha Hall, The Plaza, Begumpet, over the weekend.

In the five-star hotel category, Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre won the first prize, Taj Falaknuma bagged second prize and The Marigold won the third prize.
In the four-star category Hotel Daspalla bagged first prize, Hotel Alankrita came and Hotel Green Park came second. In the three-star category winners were Minerva Grand Secunderabad (first), Baseraa (second),
Hotel Aditya Park and Hotel Ohris Banjara (third). The winners in the food courts category were Vivera (first), Hotel Palamuru Grill (second) and Sree Devi Telangana Pindi (second) and Hotel Vindu Caterers (third).
The winners for best ambience were Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre (first), Lemon Tree (second) and Taj Falaknuma (third).
The best food service category, awards went to Lemon Tree (first), Alankrita (second) and Daspalla (third) while the best chefs awards were bagged by MV Naidu, Marriott, (first), Yadagri, Ullavacharu, (second) and Venu Gopal, Aditya Park (third).
In the restaurant category, Ullavacharu came first, Ohris 70mm secured second place, and Ohri’s Nautanki Gali bagged third prize.
The awards were presented to participating hotels in different categories by Azmeera Chandulal, minister for tourism in the presence of Pervaram Ramulu, IPS and chairman, TSTDC, B Venkatesham, IAS, secretary, youth advancement and tourism culture.
Dr Christina Z Chongthu, IAS managing director, TSTDC introduced ‘Telangana Flight Plan’ at the event. “Flight plan makes it possible for you to travel from your doorstep to your final destination in minimum time, with maximum comfort and at affordable cost - to and from anywhere in Telangana,” she said.
Pervaram Ramulu, chairman and B Venkatesham, secretary, launched the ‘One Click’ programme on the occasion.
