PSV Murthy of Mehak Hyderabad translated the stories of well-known Urdu litterateur Jeelani Bano into a Telugu book titled ‘Guppita Jaare Isuka’. The book was released by renowned Telugu writer Volga at Potti Sriramulu Telugu University on Sunday.

"The stories of Jeelani Bano are famous in Pakistan and Bangladesh also. Earlier, I wanted to read the works of Jeelani Bano, however, I could not as don’t know Urdu. I read the translated book and it is very good. It will be better in future if they include the actual date of publishing of each story. I think this book is a bridge between Telugu and Urdu literature," Volga said.

‘Guppita Jaare Isuka’ has 20 stories and they reflect the problems faced by common people. “I started translating Urdu stories into Telugu in 2002. Jeelani Bano’s stories have a lot of influence on society,” Murthy shared. Jeelani Bano; Prof. Ashraf Rafee; Satirical writer Bhanumurthi were also present at the book launch.
