The 86th Foundation day of Vijaya Bank was celebrated amidst joy and festivity at its head office in the city on Friday. To commemorate the anniversary, events were organised at Regional Offices as well.

The 86th Foundation day of Vijaya Bank was celebrated amidst joy and festivity at its head office in the city on Friday. To commemorate the anniversary, events were organised at Regional Offices as well.

The Foundation Day started by paying tributes to the founding father, Attavara Balakrishna Shetty and Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty, the architect of modern Vijaya Bank. The welcome address was given by KS Satyanarayana Raju, Regional Manager and he addressed the gathering in a glittering ceremony attended by executives, staff members and customers.

To apprise the staff and guests about the laudable and historic journey of bank, a short film was played on the occasion.

Thereafter, M Chandra Sekhar, Professor (CIPS) and Director for Public Policy & Governance (ASCI) gave Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty Memorial Lecture titled “Vijaya for Vijay in Banking” on team work and self motivation, challenges for bankers and Indian Economy/Finance/Banking.

As part of its CSR, the Bank adopted girl children from economically weaker sections to promote girl child education. As on date, the Bank has adopted more than 200 children. The Regional Office, Hyderabad has adopted 36 children.

In an attempt to make people socially conscious of the differently abled people, a cultural programme was presented by “Devnar School for the Blind” and thereafter a donation was made to them.
