Collector inspects cotton yard

Karimnagar: District Collector Sarparaj Ahmed inspected the cotton market yard in Jammikunta in the district on Friday. He enquired from the farmers whether they were selling their cotton for minimum support price or not.
They complained to him that they were not getting remunerative for their produce and demanded that justice should be done to them. Later, the Collector held discussions with the market committee chairman Ramesh.
The District collector said that the State government would intervene if cotton was being purchased at less than the MSP.
He said that e-trading could not be started in the district as there were some technical glitches. Tahsildar Mahender, supervisor Ghouse and others were present.
