The temple, abode of Lord Satyanarayana Swamy, hosts special Vrathas on Karthika Pournami. Devotees take holy dip in the River Godavari and offer prayers to the Lord.

The temple is located atop a hill, where Ayyappa Swamy temple is also constructed for the devotees. On every Karthika Pournami day, lakhs of devotees throng the temple.

The temple is decked up for upcoming Karthika Jatara on 14 November. Elaborate arrangements are made for this two-day fete and special programmes will also be organised during the celebration, said Chairman Govardhana Venkata Swamy and EO Ch Purushothamacharyulu

Govardhana Perumandla Swamy built this temple in 1964. From then, the temple developed day by day and became a popular pilgrim centre in the region.

Apart from Karthika Masa celebrations, the celestial wedding of the Lord is organised in January and February months. Devotees in Ayyappa temple wear malas in the season.

Guru Pournami is grandly celebrated in the Shirdi Sai Temple. Not only from the surrounding areas, devotees from neighbouring states also visit this temple every year.
