A three-day grand celebration was organised as part of Roda Mistry College of Social Work and Research Centre’s golden jubilee recently in which Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari eulogised the achievements of the institution.
A three-day grand celebration was organised as part of Roda Mistry College of Social Work and Research Centre’s golden jubilee recently in which Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari eulogised the achievements of the institution.
Srihari wished that the college would continue to do the good work it is known for. The minister congratulated the college for having completed research projects and contributing to the policy-making of the bovernment.
He advised the college to take-up such projects and help the government in making suitable changes and policies related to social problems and issues of the society.
Later, gold medals were awarded to meritorious students in different categories. B Kalyana Chakravarthy, Director General, Environmental Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) was present at the event,
which was followed by a national conference on “Social Work Education- Perspectives and Challenges”. Eminent speakers from the field shared their knowledge and expertise on the theme and papers were presented on sub themes.
The second day celebrations included cultural competitions on social themes. Prizes were awarded to the winners by Speaker of Legislative Assembly S Madhusudhana Chary.
Prof M Venkatachalam, Vice-Chairman State Council of Higher Education and Prof M Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University were also present.
The last day of celebrations was an ‘Alumni Meet’ in which former students from first batch of Degree till the last passing out one were present.
Experiences were shared by them showcasing their achievements and the role of college and the courses they pursued in their respective careers.
This served as a platform for interaction between the past and the present students to build a network for mutual benefit.
