Kamareddy: Members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) took up a ‘porubata deeksha’ programme in front of the Revenue Divisional Office on Wednesday demanding immediate release of the pending fee reimbursement dues.

They staged a sit-in on the road. Senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Council Mohammad Ali Shabbir was the chief guest.

Addressing the protestors, Ali accused the TRS government of ignoring the interests of 14 lakh students across the State.

He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had built a bullet-proof house-cum-office for himself spending Rs.500 crore, but at the same did not bother to release Rs.2,000 crore fee reimbursement dues to the students.

The Congress leader claimed that KCR and his family were backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi only to save his black money.

Speaking to The Hans India he said that while AICC chief Sonia Gandhi had conceded the Telangana demand after students launched an agitation even risking their future, On the other hand, KCR was taking steps harming their interests, he lamented.

He advised the Chief Minister not to forget the sacrifices made by the students during the agitation for Telangana Statehood. The NSUI organised the Poru Garjana deeksha and its chief B Venkat and other leaders participated in the program.
