Porter, a leader in tech-enabled intra-city logistics, announced India’s first benefits programme for its LCV partner-drivers.

Just like workers of the organized sector, these partner-drivers will now be entitled to a host of benefits ranging from medical and life insurance to scholarship for their children as well as finance schemes to purchase new vehicles.

Over 5,000 partner-drivers across India, including over 700 in Hyderabad, will benefit from this initiative.

Porter is taking care of various aspects of its partner drivers’ life. It is offering scholarships of up to Rs 11,000 per year for their children and a health insurance cover worth Rs 2 lakh to eligible drivers and their family members.

Regular health check-ups will be conducted to keep fatigue in check. In the unfortunate case of death due to accident, a life cover of Rs 10 lakh is also provided to the drivers.

To create more business opportunities for partner-drivers, Porter is providing a discount of up to Rs 35,000 on new vehicle purchases.

A special fuel card will enable its drivers to avail discounts and cash backs every time they refuel.

Apart from a life insurance cover of up to Rs 10 lakh, the combined value of benefits is up to Rs 15 lakh per annum.

Pranav Goel, Co-Founder & CEO, Porter said, “We are grateful that a million users rely on Porter for their intra-city transportation needs.

On the other hand, it is overwhelming to see thousands of driver-partners trusting the Porter platform as their primary source of earnings and livelihood.

They are the most important aspect of the eco-system and we would like to extend our support to them by offering multiple benefits at each step of their association with us.”
