​Sircilla: Only those students, who study in government schools and learn various types of skills from professionally trained teachers, could achieve all-round development, said District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar.
He participated in household survey of ‘Badi Baata’ programme at Mushtipally of Rajiv Nagar in Sircilla on Tuesday and interacted with the parents.
In the survey, about 510 students were identified in Rajiv Nagar area, of which nearly 266 students were in the age group of 5-10 years and about 244 members in the age group of 11-15 years.
Out of 510 students, about 300 students were studying in government schools and the remaining was going to private schools.
The Collector enquired parents about the reasons for admitting their children in private schools even though the government has been providing number of facilities for the students along with giving highly standard education in government schools.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector Krishna Bhaskar said students could learn number of things in government schools from trained and professionally skilled teachers, who had been appointed after testing them through various competitive examinations.
Along with quality and highly standard education, the government is providing balanced diet along with giving uniforms and books freely to the students studying in government schools and helping them for their all-round development through sports and other technical skills like computer coaching, he said.
The Collector also tried to motivate the parents by saying that several great and famous people have studied in government schools and added that he himself studied in a government school.
District Education Officer Radha Kishan, Mandal Education Officer Ramchander Rao, Sarpanch Balaiah, MPTC Mallikarjun, Headmaster Rajeshwar Rao, Lavanya, Anjaiah and Eshwar were present along with the teachers of government school.
