Hanamkonda: The TRS ‘Athmeeya Sammelanam’ has highlighted the party leader’s expectation of getting nominated posts while Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari and MP B Vinod Kumar expressed differing views on the issue.

The party had organised the Sammelanam on Monday to felicitate the TRS leaders from erstwhile Warangal, who got nominated posts. Addressing the gathering, several leaders have stated that though the district has got a lions’ share in nominated posts there were many eligible leaders waiting for their chance.

Referring to which, MP Vinod Kumar said posts were not permanent and suggested craving for posts was not desirable. Those in the party since its inception have not worked to get the posts, all have strived to achieve separate Telangana and now the focus should be on progress of the State but not on the posts.

Responding to his suggestion, the Deputy CM Srihari said aspiring for posts was not wrong at all as the party leaders, who fought for statehood, were hoping to find their share in the posts. With the formation of Telangana, TRS has become a political party it was natural and a good quality to aspire for a place in the government.

“Desire to get posts motivates us to work hard. I am hopeful of the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, ensuring justice to all eligible aspirants by offering nominated posts in the future.

The party leadership will take the responsibility to take the profiles of all aspirants to the notice of the CM”, the Deputy CM added. Both the leaders have stated that Warangal has played a key role in statehood movement that was why the CM offered majority nominated posts to the district leaders. The same was the case in the allocation of funds towards the district development.

The CM has been keen in the development of the district and chalked out numerous programmes in that direction. Looking at the developmental activities, the Opposition parties leaders were now afraid of their political future and making baseless allegations against the TRS rule, Srihari pointed out.

“Telangana movement is not yet over. The movement would continue until the State achieves all round growth. The CM has taken up the development of the State as a movement; everyone in the party should lend his hand in that direction,” Vinod Kumar urged.

Except the Women Cooperative Finance Corporation Chairperson Gundu Sudharani and TSTDC Chairman Pervaram Ramulu, all leaders, who secured nominated posts attended the programme. Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal, party MPs, MLAs, MLCs andmandal-level TRS leaders and workers were present.
