The entire town of Wanaparthy was plunged into darkness when a cobra interrupted the power supply at 220/132 sub-station, here on Friday.

The cobra, which tried to catch a bird, accidentally snapped the live wires. The snake was electrocuted causing the transformer to trip.
Assistant Engineer Nanaji along with his staff rushed to the spot and found the dead snake and the injured bird. They saved the bird and restored the power supply.
