Khammam: Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal has urged the people to celebrate Ganesh festival in a peaceful way. The top cop, on Tuesday, chaired a review meeting with the police personnel to discuss the maintenance of law and order and security arrangements to be made for Ganesh Chaturthi and Bakrid festivals, in Khammam.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said about 3,500 Ganesh pandals would be established at various locations under commissionerate limits. He asked the officials to keep a strict vigil at pandals and not allow anti-social activities like playing of cards, obscene dance shows etc.

“The Station House Officers (SHO) must inspect every pandal in their respective areas and ask the organisers to strictly adhere to the rules,” ordered the top cop, suggesting the officials to coordinate with the members of the Ganesh Utsav Committees and Shanti Parirakshana Committees for organising the two festivals peacefully.

Assistant Commissioners of Police Ismail, Suresh Kumar, Ganesh, Rajesh, Sridhar Reddy and CAR Assistant Commissioner of Police Venkateshwarlu, Circle Inspectors Srinivas Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, Sarangapani, Naresh Reddy, Rehaman, Venkanna Babu, Raji Reddy, Thirupati Reddy, Nagendra Chary, Kiran Kumar, Mallaiah Swamy, Ramesh, Anjali, Sridhar, Venkatanarasaiah and Finger Prints officials Sridhar and Naresh were present along with others.
