Cylinder explodes injuring five

A gas cylinder exploded at Rein Bazaar, Yakutpura in the evening on Monday. According to Ranga Rao, Inspector, Rein Bazaar, the gas cylinder exploded inside a household injuring five women. Out of the five, two women have been declared critical. All of the injured were shifted to Osmania General Hospital after the blast. The injured have been identified as Masood, 78, Afshaq Siddiqui, 24, Asra Taseen, 22, Asmath Asha, 30 and Sameena Fatima, 35.

Ranga Rao, Inspector, Rein Bazaar, said, “The women were trying to change the gas using a gas regulator. In due process, they were oblivious to the fact that the previous cylinder was emanating gas. The cause of the ignition is still unknown but it was due to the leak that the explosion occurred.” On seeing the fire erupt from the gas cylinder all the women rushed and circled the cylinder in an attempt to put out the flame. But, instead it caused more harm than good as it put them right in the field of explosion.
