Bollywood music directors Vishal and Shekhar are going to be in Hyderabad with their youthful vibes and music for the first time. The live concert on October 19 will have some surprise elements; reveal the duo in an exclusive interview.

It is going to be the gala time for all Hyderabadi music lovers to experience the live performance from one of the country’s most popular musical duo Vishal and Shekhar that will take place at Hitex Exhibition Centre on October 19 organised by ‘Cisne For Art’ and presented by Seagram’s Royal Stag Mega Music.

“Stage is my second home. And performing live in Hyderabad is exciting as this city has a cosmopolitan audience,” said Vishal Dadlani who is continuing his musical journey as a composer and singer for almost two decades since his early days with the electro rock band ‘Pentagram’, in 1994. The duo grabbed the spotlight with their song ‘Tu Ashiqui Hai’ for the movie Jhankaar Beats in 2003. The success story continues with many hit songs from films like ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Dostana’, ‘The Dirty Pictures’, ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Student of the year’.

Though Vishal-Shekhar are now more known for their success in Bollywood music, according to Vishal, this is the boom time in the independent music scenario. “There are many online platforms where new artists or independent musicians can showcase their music to reach out to people. All they have to do is hard work to make a mark,” he expressed his view deferring the fact that independent music is facing an unfair competition from film music. But the common listener does not have easy access to ‘non-filmy’ music on main stream media like radio or TV. Vishal believes that the onus of bringing this music to such media lies with the listeners. “TV or Radio is commercial media where people invest huge amount of money to make business out of it. So, it is quite obvious for them to play popular songs or listeners’ choice. If they (listeners) really want to hear independent music on radio, they can ask the RJ’s to play them on request shows!”

The duo is working on their upcoming film that is expected to release this year titled ‘Gori Teri Pyaar Mein’ starring Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan and Farah Khan’s film ‘Happy New Year’ where audience will get to see Shahrukh-Deepika pair again after ‘Chennai Express’. “We are also working on a Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer named ‘Bang Bang’ directed by Siddharth Raj Anand,” confirmed Vishal.
