Only Mineral Water in this Colony!, Best Colonies in Twin Cities. Maj Gen (Retd) AR Kumar, president of the colony, said, construction of houses commenced in 2000 in three phases and many houses were constructed as duplex houses.

Mani Enclave won a cash award of Rs 5 lakh in 2012, for being one of the best colonies in twin cities. It is located in a sprawling 20-acre area at Yapral, under the North Zone limits of the GHMC. This enclave was originally a grape garden, which was converted into an enclave. There are a total of 135 plots, and so far 115 independent houses have been constructed. All the residents of Mani Enclave formed a welfare group by the name of Mani Enclave Residents' Welfare Association (MERA), which was registered in 2003. The initial layout and development was done by Bhoom Rao of M/s Bhanu Estates.

Maj Gen (Retd) AR Kumar, president of the colony, said, construction of houses commenced in 2000 in three phases and many houses were constructed as duplex houses. Mani Enclave has all the ingredients of a gated community: green avenues, a temple, all weather black top roads and a community hall. The hall accommodates a gymnasium, indoor badminton court, snooker room, basketball and volleyball ground, library and a reading room. A green patch called AROGYAM, is maintained in the enclave, with a track for walking/jogging.
Water supply to the residents of Mani Enclave is streamlined. MERA has its own water softening and RO plants (Reverse Osmosis Plants). Besides, Manjeera, water pumped out from two tube wells and a reservoir from an open well is treated in the softening plant and supplied to all the houses. 20 lts of drinking water is treated in the RO plant and is provided to all the households. In addition, a water sump of 1,49,000 lts capacity, was recently constructed to store groundwater, which is also treated and supplied to the residents. All the plots in the colony have rainwater harvesting pits.
Ramesh Patel, who is working as a supervisor for the past ten years, is instrumental for maintenance of the colony. The colony is now making arrangements for disposal of garbage through incinerators, which are under construction.
Guards have been employed to provide security 24x7. Regular cultural, religious and social activities are conducted by MERA on various occasions viz. National days and festivals. The ambiance in the enclave provides, offers an ideal retreat for senior citizens. Mani Enclave is surrounded by Gordhanpuri Gardens, Naturoville, Bhanu Enclave, Sylvan Greens, Defence Officers Institute (RSI) Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bolaram and the Army Golf Club.
Lt Col(Retd) T Saibaba, secretary, said, the colony has a mix of retired officers from govt/defence services, doctors, engineers, corporate employees and a few industrialists. The MERA Welfare Association is managed by a core managing committee whose tenure is for two years. The present committee includes Maj Gen (Retd) AR Kumar, president; DR Varma, vice president; Lt Col Retd) T Saibaba, secretary; MSS Murthy, treasurer; Raghupathi Reddy, member sanitation; CDR (Retd) Eswara Reddy, member security; Devi Murthy, incharge, social events and Madan Nair, incharge, sports complex.
