Dec 18 marks PS4 launch in India

After receiving much fan-fare and furore in the American and European markets the PS4 is all geared up for its launch into the ‘desi-markets’.

The date set by Sony officials for the launch is December 18. After creating a frenzy abroad by selling more than a million units in a just under a week’s time, Sony is all geared up to achieve its target of selling 3 million units by the end of 2013.

It has been quite evident that due to flaws in the Xbox One system the sales have been slow, the Indian market is a serious scenario for gaming giants.

Though as of now there is no information on the price of the console. Tech-gurus estimate the PS4 to priced along the lines of Rs 28,000-Rs 35,000 bench mark. Atindriya Bose, Sony India, said that they will reveal the price along with te console itself.

He further added that the first-party titles for the PS4 will retail at Rs 4000 and accessories like, the Dualshock 4 controller and eye-camera will be made available but in meagre quantities.

The launch does come as a blessing in disguise but on the flip-side, the launch line-up of titles isn’t as concrete as that compared to its Microsoft counterpart. Apart from games like kill Zone: Shadow Fall and Resogun, Sony doesn’t pack much ammo in its belt.
