National Pulse Polio Immunisation Day would be observed by Andhra Pradesh on January 19
Hyderabad, being the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, has 6,56,454 children less than five months old. They would be supplemented with a dose of Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) which will eradicate poliomyelitis in the state.
The activities to be conducted are:
Booth activity - on January 19 (7am to 6pm) House to house activity – on January 20, 21 and 22.
In order to oversee implementation of the programme, the government has roped in the District Task Force for successful implementation of the intensified Pulse Polio Programme.
Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC, would be convening a meeting of the District Task Force with all the designated members on Friday at 10 am at the GHMC head office.
