The Ranga Reddy district branch of the Zilla Sainik Welfare Office conducted an awareness camp for ex-servicemen on Tuesday at the ECHS Polyclinic in Trimulgherry. Col P Ramesh Kumar, director, Sainik Welfare, Telangana, was the chief guest who appealed to all ex-servicemen pensioners and widows of ex-servicemen to register their name in the Jeevan Pramaan centre.

Explaining the benefits and concessions of the scheme, Ramesh Kumar said, “The Jeeven Pramaan is an Aadhaar linked programme with a biometric system. Once a pensioner registers his or her name in this centre, they need not submit their life certificates to the concerned bank every year. They can even renew their pension online on the website for Jeevan Praman.

It is very useful for the pensioners who are staying abroad and who are not in a position to submit their life certificates in person.” Col Saxena, in-charge, ECHS, said, “In this camp 150 new identity cards have been issued to ex-servicemen and widows of ex-servicemen. More than 80 ex-servicemen and widows have registered themselves for the scheme on the first day at the centre. For additional information the public can contact 94400-39383.”
