A 24x7 ambulance exclusive to animals soon

Noah’s Army, which comprises a bunch of animal lovers, are in the process of starting the city’s first animal ambulance service

Noah’s Army, an NGO which works for animal welfare, is planning to come up with an ambulance dedicated exclusively for animals.

Giving details about Noah’s Army, founder Minakshi Shekar, along with co-founders Kavya Bali and Harsha Dhanvada, said, “We work for the welfare of street dogs. We are a group of animal lovers and intend to work towards the better future for animals on the streets of India, beginning with Hyderabad.”

“We are going to set up a full-fledged 24x7 ambulance for animals. It will be like a multi-specialty ambulance for animals. It is costing us Rs 16 lakh and will be a first of its kind high-tech ambulance for animals in the city. We will raise money and acquire this in the next six months,” informed Noah’s Army co-founder Harsha Dhanvada.

The NGO organised a Doggies Day Out at Raahgiri on Sunday. On the turnout of pet owners at the event, Kavya said, “We got 296 RSVPs for the Doggies Day Out on social media. But only 50 dog owners along with their dogs turned up.”

The members strive by the mantra that a lot can be said about a person by the way they treat animals. “Noah’s Army wants to campaign for animals that are subject to abuse, treated inhumanly and left hungry. In the long run, we want to be the one-stop shop of adoption, vaccination and medical aid for these animals,” said Minakshi.

The group is mulling a strategy to provide food and water for stray animals. They will encourage people in the colony to designate an area in neighbourhood to provide these amenities.
