Medical and Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy assured that the State Government would upgrade the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) with modern facilities. Speaking to newsmen after a surprise visit to the healthcare facility on Monday, Lakshma Reddy said that the government has allocated adequate funds for upgrading the present facilities.

“Patients have expressed their satisfaction over the behaviour and services of NIMS staff. Funds would not be a constraint to address the issues related to public health,” he said. The minister added that the government will set up one super-specialty hospital in all the districts of the State. He mentioned that steps were also being taken to upgrade and improve the 108 Emergency Services. However, he feigned ignorance when asked about the strike notice served by the 108 contract employees.
