90 lakh to develop JVR Park
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to develop the Jalagam Vengal Rao Park situated at Road No 1 of Banjara Hills. The Jalagam Vengal Rao Park was established a few years ago on 10 acres of Anugu Kunta land. It also has boating facility although its water got polluted. GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said steps would be taken to clean the water at a cost of Rs 90 lakh, which includes Rs 65 lakh from HMWSSB funds.

The existing trees and plants of various specious will not be disturbed. The biodiversity officials are planning to provide all basic amenities to the morning walkers and also supply sports material to the children who are regularly visiting this park. Somesh Kumar said one beautiful fountain would be installed in the park with modernized lightings. He directed the engineering and biodiversity officials to submit the designs by involving a private consultancy firm.
