Omega Basketball Club beat Nizam Basketball Academy A

Omega Basketball Club and Victory Play Ground entered the quarterfinals of the Club League Championship on Sunday. Omega Basketball Club beat Nizam Basketball Academy ‘A’ 56-49 while VPG defeated Secunderabad YMCA Alumni 58-36.

Arun Kumar, Sai Kumar and Abhinay gave a solid start to Omega Basketball Club with their fast paced attack. On the other hand, Abhinay using his reach was garnering the rebounds on both boards and also converted from second attempts to see his side cross over at 26-22 after leading 12-8 at the first quarter.

The attack of the Nizam team was blunted with Chris, Balaji and Pavan not able to get their shots in the first half but recovered in the third to reduce the lead to 42-45 at the end of the third period before Arun and Sai got a couple of baskets apiece to see their side go ahead.

In the other match, Victory Playground with Salla Prasad marshalling his players to a nicety faced no threat from YMCA Secunderabad Alumni on way to registering a 58-36 win with Jaswanth, Naveen Yadav and Kiran doing the bulk of scoring for the winner while Secunderabad YMCA Alumni were well served by K Vishal Kumar, B. Vishal and Saravana Kumar.
