“We need more multi speciality hospitals in Hyderabad as the city is making its niche as hub of medical tourism,” said Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao. The minister was speaking after inaugurating a ‘Citizens Centre for Digestive Disorders’ (CCDD) at the Citizens Speciality Hospitals in Nallagandla on Wednesday.

The minister was speaking after inaugurating a ‘Citizens Centre for Digestive Disorders’ (CCDD) at the Citizens Speciality Hospitals in Nallagandla on Wednesday.

Rao said that works for a ‘Medical Devices Park’ were initiated in 250 acres in the city, which would effectively bring down the excess cost on medical equipment. He expressed his happiness over the number of international patients coming to the city and hailed the hospital for setting up the medical facility in Hyderabad.

Facility Director of the hospital Nilesh Gupta said, “The Citizens Centre for Digestive Disorders is a powerful confluence of an eminent team of gastroenterologists, herpetologists and gastro surgeons who, supported by the most advanced technology and dedicated facilities, will offer the most advanced treatments for simple to most complex gastro problems throughout the region.”

Dr Suresh Chandra Hari, Chief General, Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon said, “We have dedicated infrastructure; systems and technology that will help us deliver Gastro care of global standards. The team at the centre has vast experience in the area of medical and surgical gastroenterology and is also specialised to handle all types of emergencies.”

MP Konda Vishweswara Reddy said that the health care policy, which is being implemented in the State, is far better than that of others’. “The State government is encouraging advanced medical services in private hospitals apart from providing necessary health care in government hospitals,” he said.

Dr Sarada Pasangulapati, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist said, “The incidence of liver diseases is increasing, both viral hepatitis and non alcoholic-fatty liver disease. Early recognition and prompt treatment can prevent devastating complications like cirrhosis and liver cancer.” Special officer of the Budha Vanam Project Mallepalli Laxmaiha and former minister Fariduddin were also present during the launch.
