In order to enable modern education to madrassa students and Islamic education to students in conventional schools, a specialised institution, ‘College of Islamic and Arabic Studies’, affiliated to Al Mahad Al Dini Al Arabi has been established in the city.

Addressing a conference in Hyderabad on Thursday, Hazrath Mohammed Khaja Shareef, Shaik ul Hadees of Jamia Nizamia and founder of AL-Mahad said, “When Madrassa students get modern education, they will be able to drive home misconceptions about their religion that certain sections of countrymen hold about Islam.”

“Similarly, when Islamic education is delivered to students with contemporary education, the moderate religious teachings will prevent them from falling to social evils like suicide, corruption, drug addiction, and all forms of crime,” he said.

The college will offer undergraduate courses in Islamic studies in Arabic language and literature. It offers a three years graduation course divided into six semesters, courses for which are being compiled by academiciansfrom different universities.

These courses are employment-oriented and will help enable graduates of this collegeto acquire jobs in MNCs where Arabic language is particularly in demand.
