Fire breaks out at Exel Rubber company
Close on the heels of a major fire mishap at Agrawal Rubber company in the last week, debunking the hollowness of fire safety, one more similar accident took place at another rubber company on the night of May Day at IDA Bollaram in Jinnaram mandal in Sangareddy district.

According to the Telangana Regional Fire Officer Papaiah, fire broke out at main mixing unit of Exel Rubber Limited company located at Industrial Co-operative Society at IDA Bollaram around 8 pm on Tuesday night. the fire was brought under the control by using 9 fire tenders (each one from Patancheru, Madapur, Kukatpaly, Pashamailaram, Jeedimetla fire stations and 3 from Reddy’s Labs at Bollaram and one from Aurobindo Pharma Company). Though no lives were claimed in the accident, the fire damaged a lot of property.
The fire officer said, “We were informed 30 minutes after the fire broke out at the company around 8 pm. Immediately we rushed to the spot with 4 fire tenders of ours and 5 more used from the other neighbouring companies to bring the fire under control. Fire fighters had to fight hard to put out the fire due to the strong gales and blackout at the spot.
So for, the reason behind the accident was not found and no lives were claimed in the mishap as it was May Day but the loss of property is yet to be ascertained. Apparently, there seems to be a few violations of statutory norms of fire safety at the company though having fire extinguishers and a water sump. This is the second incident in the rubber belt in a gap of a week days and are investigating to find the grounds of the fire accidents in the rubber companies. This is unfortunate to be happened while we have been inspecting and alerting the companies regarding the fire safety.
Hollowness of fire safety at companies debunked. This is the third major fire accidents in the same area in rubber companies in the period of three months debunking the hollowness of the fire safety in the companies and lukewarm inspection of fire department officials. Despite the finding of violations of safety and statutory norms by the companies and inspections by the officials, still there have been no incidents of issuance of notices to the companies for flouting the rules in the area.
