Minister asks VC to allot house sites to OU staff
Minister T Padma Rao Goud on Monday held extensive discussions with Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof S Ramachandram on several pending issues in his Secretariat chambers.
Secunderabad: Minister T Padma Rao Goud on Monday held extensive discussions with Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof S Ramachandram on several pending issues in his Secretariat chambers.
Rao urged VC to allot sites for the construction of houses for the OU employees residing in various camps on the campus and also double bedroom houses. The minister wanted the OU officials to hand over the previously allotted site for building a government hospital for the benefit of students and staff.
He sought VC’s cooperation in arranging water/power supply, besides other basic facilities, for the people residing on the campus and adjoining areas. According to an official release, the VC assured Rao to consider the issues raised at the meeting. He offered to provide required facilities for those living in camps on the campus.
Prof Ramachandram responded positively to a suggestion by the minister to cooperate in running temporary classes in the OU Model School to facilitate the construction of two colleges in Sitaphalmandi government school.
Representatives of the six OU camps explained their problems. They appreciated the minister for showing interest in solving their problems. Among those present at the meeting were Tarnaka Corporator Alakunta Saraswathi, Sitaphalmandi Corporator Samala Hema, Yuva Jana Sena leader Alakunta Hari, OSD Dr S M Rajeswara Rao.
