A festive atmosphere prevailed in Nagalur village of Dundigal Gram Panchayat on Thursday when the Rythu Bandhu scheme was launched by local MLA KP Vivekananda and MLC Sunkari Raju, besides officials of various departments.
Qutbullapur: A festive atmosphere prevailed in Nagalur village of Dundigal Gram Panchayat on Thursday when the Rythu Bandhu scheme was launched by local MLA KP Vivekananda and MLC Sunkari Raju, besides officials of various departments. Local residents accorded a colourful welcome to the legislators, with beating of drums, before they distributed pattadar passbooks and cheques.
The legislators told the gathering that the scheme would benefit 2,500 farmers of Qutbullapur constituency. The impact of the scheme was so much that even those not involved in farm operations said they would take it up with the assistance provided by the government. A ryot shed tears of joy after receiving the benefits.
Vivekananda told The Hans India that 119 farmers in Nagalur and 278 in Dommara Pochampalli received the pattadar passbooks and cheques. He said the aim of the scheme was to rid the Telangana farmers of their hardships. The MLA described Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as one who relentlessly strove for the welfare of farmers with the sole motive of development.
Showering praise on KCR, Raju said the scheme took shape with him aiming to provide the pride of place to farmers, with the belief that the country would prosper when they are well placed.
Both the legislators assured the gathering that the government would always stand by ryots by offering them remunerative prices, irrigation facilities, timely seeds, investments, fertilizers.
They said both felt happy that farmers were visibly pleased with the benefits provided by the government. Among those present were ZP Vice-chairman Prabhakar Reddy, Sarpanch Kavali Ganesh, Gandimaisamma MRO Mallayya, EOPRD Jyoti Reddy, RI Renuka.
