Kondapur: It is more than a month now since the drainage overflow through the long road stretch from Hafeezpet to Kondapur main roads was left unattended by the GHMC authorities. Despite several complaints nothing much was changed on ground. The issue is not just troubling the commuters but also halts construction work of RTA office at Sherilingampally.

The officials said, “The issue came up after the sewerage pipeline was broken at the time of drinking water works. So far, we have rectified the drainage problem in bylines and the team of workers would be soon sent to main roads to commence the work in coordination with the water department.”

As the monsoon is round the corner, the commuters are worried to travel through the inundated roads along with the drainage overflow. Rajesh the resident of Kondapur said, “The open drainage overflow from Hafeezpet to Kondapur road is causing inconvenience and no officials have taken any action yet.
Even after fixing of the pipelines two months ago, the drainage continues to flow and the roads which were dug up to fix the pipelines left unfilled.” With GHMC officials turning a blind eye to the grievances of public, the residents took the issue to twitter to get the attention of higher officials in an attempt to bring pressure on concerned officials and resolve the issue immediately.

On the other hand, the construction work of RTA office which was started on December at Sherilingamapally was left in ruins as there is no instant measures taken up to resolve the issue of drainage water.
