In view of the recent acquittals of all the accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case, a documentary film being produced jointly by SIO (Students Islamic Organisation) with Couch Potato Productions will be released soon. It will be exploring as to who were behind the blast, as neither the HuJI militants nor Abhinav Bharat was found to be involved by the probing authorities. 

Hyderabad: In view of the recent acquittals of all the accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case, a documentary film being produced jointly by SIO (Students Islamic Organisation) with Couch Potato Productions will be released soon. It will be exploring as to who were behind the blast, as neither the HuJI militants nor Abhinav Bharat was found to be involved by the probing authorities.

According to film makers, ‘Here Lies the Tort Law’ the expository documentary will be clearing the shadows shrouded upon the case. It will be released soon to the public seeking the ground-breaking facts and answers to dramatic twists in the case. “The documentary will be also representing the relevant bomb blast cases since 2004 with the subjects covering lawyers, journalists, social activists, police officers, politicians and victims of the case,” said Abdul Mannan one of the directors.

On May 18, 2007, 16 persons reportedly died, amongst whom five were killed in the subsequent police firing after the blast. The Bhaskar Rao Commission report is yet to be made public which probed the police firing on that day. Commemorating the 11th anniversary of Mecca Masjid blast, SIO (Telangana), along with Couch Potato Productions released its poster on Saturday.

Producers Laeeq Ahmed Khan Aquil (State president SIO), Melwin Sam (Managing Director of Couch Potato Productions), Directors Abdul Mannan and Muti ur Rahman Dawoodi (Independent Film Makers) were also present on the occasion. The documentary ‘Here Lies The Tort Law’ shows the true story of Mecca Masjid Blast case happened on May 5, 2007 and which has left a deep cut in the collective psyche of the Hyderabadis, added Abdul Mannan.
