Residents want underpass at RK Puram to be opened
A day after the directive from the Defence Ministry to open all the roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment, the Malkajgiri Colony Welfare Association members gathered at the Ramakrishnapuram bridge here on Monday to share their happiness.
RK Puram: A day after the directive from the Defence Ministry to open all the roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment, the Malkajgiri Colony Welfare Association members gathered at the Ramakrishnapuram bridge here on Monday to share their happiness.
Even as the members rejoiced at the Union Ministry’s decision, they also lamented on the heavy traffic. Ramana Reddy said, “The bridge was opened when the TDP government was in power and the traffic was less but today the flow of traffic increased by several notches and there is a need to open the underpass.”
It may be noted that a few years ago, the Local Military Authority (LMA) closed the underpass. The residents have been demanding for reopening the underpass. Citizens travelling towards Neredmet, A S Rao Nagar, Sainilpuri, Yapral, ECIL, Kushaiguda, Keesara and beyond use the flyover.
