One Bank for many villages

Maheshwaram: It is a nationalised bank established long back to serve customers of various villages in the mandal. In contrary to its basic inception, the bank which is in the centre of one village caused inconvenience to the customers of other villages.

This is the story of Syndicate Bank located in Tummalur village. Several years ago, the non-availability of rented buildings on the main road leads to establish the bank in the middle of the village.

Apart from Tummalur, customers from villages like Mohabbat Nagar in the mandal used to approach the bank to receive loans on subsidy and other benefits from government schemes. They feel it as herculean task to reach bank for each and every occasion. The customers are blaming the negligence of bank’s zonal level officers in shifting it.

When contacted, Bank manager P Pratibha said that they sent a proposed report on shifting of bank to main junction to the district authorities. She assured the shifting of it after getting nod from higher officials.
