Scores of seasonal cuisines continue as a 24-hour business throughout the city including haleem, dahi wada, dal, pakodi, samosas, khichidi, harees, kofta, ghawa and midnight dosa.

Hyderabad: The streets of the city lights up with new businesses in the month of Ramzan, most popular among them is eateries serving the food. Scores of seasonal cuisines continue as a 24-hour business throughout the city including haleem, dahi wada, dal, pakodi, samosas, khichidi, harees, kofta, ghawa and midnight dosa.

Streets of Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki, Nampally, Abids and Old City are crowded with food lovers to devour their midnight meal. Hotels though appear to be closed are kept open for 24 hours striking with business.

Prince Hotel Manager Mahmood said, “The business of haleem continues until 2 am thereafter khichidi is sold until sehiri.” A1 Dosa Tolichowki store owner Iftab said, “The business is at peak during the month of Ramzan, especially in the night hours.” Mohammed Yawar said, “The timetable of Hyderabadis changes during the month of Ramzan. Most of them sleep during the day and stay awake at night. Many youngsters in the city have a habit of wandering at night and their habit is encouraged by the availability of food at night.”

“followed by the late-night shopping it is better to stop by and have a dosa.” said Najeeb Ahmed. Robin Paul IT worker said, “Usually food was available only at a few spots like Begum Bazaar, Gachibowli and Hi-tech City with a restricted menu of tiffins. In the month of Ramzan a wide variety of food is available in every corner of the city.”
