State No1 in development: Etala Rajender
Finance Minister Etala Rajender on Thursday asserted that the State was no1 in development which was an effective reply to those contending that people of Telangana were incapable of carrying effective administration.

Participating in a symposium on the needs of the insurance sector organised by the Telangana and AP Federations of Commerce and Industry in Red Hills, he stated that the State GSDP was 10.4 per cent as against 4 per cent in the former unified Andhra Pradesh.
Etala pointed out that other States were learning from newly-created Telangana, while stating that the government had introduced many welfare schemes for the benefit of people during the last four years, including 24-hour free power supply both for agriculture and industrial sectors.
He listed water supply to every house under the Mission Bhagiratha among the welfare schemes. The minister said the government proposed to give Rs 5 lakh insurance cover for each farmer in the State.
