Medchal Collector reviews arrangements for panchayat polls
District Collector MV Reddy directed the contestants in the forthcoming panchayat elections to submit their election expenses daily by 5 pm in the office of the MPDO.
Medchal: District Collector MV Reddy directed the contestants in the forthcoming panchayat elections to submit their election expenses daily by 5 pm in the office of the MPDO.
Reviewing the arrangements for the panchayat elections here on Tuesday, he appointed nodal officers for mobilising necessary government servants to conduct the polls, procuring necessary ballot boxes, arranging transport facilities, procurement of stationery, obtaining the election expenses statements from candidates, ballot papers, media management and so on.
He asked the nodal officers to work with commitment adhering to the election code of conduct. He wanted them to keep a strict vigil round the clock.
Further, he asked them to accelerate the pace of work with regard to numbering the polling booths, providing basic amenities at the booths, arranging special amenities for physically challenged, senior citizens and those who are not able to walk.
He insisted that special training be given to government staff on election duty. District Panchayat Officer, District Revenue officer, Revenue Divisional officers, Mandal Parishad development officer and others took part in the meeting.
