`1,080.49 crore sanctioned as bank loans to 37,611 SHGs

An amount of Rs 1,080.49 crore has been sanctioned as bank loans to 37,611 self-help groups from 2014-15, which are working in 1,466 slums in the greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits, onwards with an average amount of Rs 39,664 for every group member. There are 46,912 SHGs in GHMC limits.
Hyderabad: An amount of Rs 1,080.49 crore has been sanctioned as bank loans to 37,611 self-help groups from 2014-15, which are working in 1,466 slums in the greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits, onwards with an average amount of Rs 39,664 for every group member. There are 46,912 SHGs in GHMC limits.
A press released by GHMC said on Thursday that it is encouraging urban poor women to market the products made by SHGs by way of providing opportunity to participate in the exhibitions organised by the State government and other departments.
