Jharasangam: Several youth in many villagers are accused of addicted to gambling and alcohol putting their families in jeopardy. Women complain of gambling going on in Kuppanar, Pottipalli, Yelgoi, Jeerlapalli, Yedalupalli, Eedulapalli and so on. The youth of the villages are so addicted to the gambling that they are indulging in the passion by sale of household goods.

In spite of repeated advice to quit the habit, the youth are not in a mood to pay heed to their advice. Youth of the village sustained loss to the tune of several thousands of rupees by indulging in IPL betting. As if it is not enough, currently they are in the grip of gambling, which is running families. Local SI Yedukondalu said that the police would raid on gambling dens on a tip off and would register cases.

Tuljamam, a resident of Birdipur, said that her husband Narsimlu appealed to officials to take suitable action against Narsimhulu who indulged in Gambling at Potipalli. She said he returns home in a drunken condition. Narsamma, a resident of Devarapalli in Jharasangammandal urged officials to take action against gamblers who are indulging in the vice daily at Devarapalli.
