Uppal: The delayed works of Mini-Shilparamam at Uppal has picked up pace and expected to be completed by Dasara, says G Krishna Rao, director, Shilparamam. It be must be mentioned here that the Mini-Shilparam works got a fillip after MAUD Minister KTR showed keen interest in completing the project.
In 7.5 - acre open land near Nagole Metro station, the Mini-Shilparamam will take its shape by using ‘nut and bolts’ instead of cement and a brick. The open land has been allotted by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the construction had started last week with the fund allocation to the tune of Rs five to six crores.
He said that around 50 handloom stalls and other cultural programmes would be set up here, which would suffice the need and requirements of many people living in the East Zone. They no longer have to rush to Shilparamam at Madhapur. The nearby areas like Uppal, Boduppal, Nagole, Habsiguda, and few other areas will be benefited by this Mini Shilparamam.” He also added that KT Rama Rao was very keen to complete the work and he has already agreed to inaugurate Mini-Shilparamam to public by Dasara.
