bhagavanHyderabad: Sleuths of the north zone Task Force team on Friday arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in transporting ganja in an auto for sale and seized 6.2 kg of ganja, Rs 540, the vehicle and a cell phone from their possession.

The arrested include Bhagawan Panigrahi, a labourer, who resides in Rajendranagar and a native of Odisha and Palle Ramchander, an auto driver of West Marredpally. Panigrahi observed many labourers consuming ganja after spending huge amounts.

To earn easy money, he thought of bringing ganja from Odisha, where it is available at cheaper rates. He bought it at Rs 2,000 a kg and planned to sell it here for Rs 8,000 a kg. To sell ganja he took the assistance of Ramchander for locating customers.

They were caught while carrying the ganja in the auto by concealing it behind the passenger seat when the Task Force team was conducting a vehicle check at Secunderabad Railway Station Road. They were handed over to the Gopalapuram police for further investigation.
