Criminal case booked against Danam, 2 drivers

Hyderabad: Banjara Hills police on Friday registered a criminal case against Labour Minister Danam Nagender and his two drivers, Narsimhulu and Balu.

The case was registered under Sections 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) IPC. Police registered the case based on a complaint lodged by the Greyhounds person Sambasiva Rao on Thursday. Sambasiva Rao, in his complaint, said that he was going in his car at around 4 pm when Nagender's drivers Narsimhulu and Balu, travelling on a two wheeler, hit his car near Sagar Society.

They also picked up an argument with him and challenged him to lodge a complaint with the police. When Sambasiva Rao entered the Banjara Hills police station, the drivers called up Danam Nagender seeking his intervention. The Minister arrived at the police station and directed the police personnel to bring out the complainant. The Minister allegedly chided Sambasiva Rao for lodging a complaint against his men, while the drivers roughed him up in front of the Minister.

Police intervened and rescued Sambasiva Rao, while the assailants and the Minister left the place.A Later, Sambasiva Rao was sent to Osmania General Hospital for medical examination and a case was registered after receiving the medical report.
