Hyderabad: Telangana JAC on Wednesday reacted sharply to Seemandhra leaders’ demand for unified Andhra Pradesh in the meeting with Antony Committee held on Tuesday, at New Delhi. Speaking at TJAC Shanti Deeksha at Indira Park, TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram said, “Seemandhra politicians just want to continue their hold over Hyderabad and river water at any cost and hence are not willing to move even an inch from their stand of unified State.”
Kodandaram further added that Seemandhra leaders were unnecessarily creating fear in the minds of public from their region about Hyderabad and sharing of water resources. Why were they shying away from discussions with Telangana community to sort out their apprehensions on various issues all these years, he questioned. Pointing out that the concept of regional committees, to do justice for all regions, failed miserably previously, Kodandaram said adding that there was no point in talking about it again.
Meanwhile, members of Telangana Engineers JAC turned up in large numbers and sat through entire third day programme of Shanti Deeksha. Telangana Jagruthi members, led by their president K Kavitha, would take part in the fourth day deeksha to be inaugurated by TRS senior leader, Kadiyam Srihari. On the other hand, TRS secretary general K Keshav Rao is expected to take part in the concluding session.
