Hyderabad: The TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu proposes to launch a campaign called ‘Save India’ soon after his Bus Yatra in the 13 districts of the Seemandhra region was over. Speaking to media here on Saturday, Naidu said that this had become necessary since the country’s economy has suffered a serious setback under UPA-II.

Referring to the solutions offered by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh following the devaluation of rupee, Naidu said it sounds ridiculous. A man who is himself considered to be an economist advises people to cut down consumption of petrol and diesel and not to buy gold. This is the remedy an economist has for the country’s economic problems, he quipped.

Naidu said even as an administrator Manmohan Singh had failed to run the country. The UPA-II has been full of scams and scandals. It failed even on the law and order front. It is a shame on the part of the government that it could not make laws tough enough to give maximum punishment to even those who committed heinous crime like rape of Nirbhaya.
Such people got only three years imprisonment. In the backdrop of such a situation, it was time for all intellectuals, economists, social activists and NGOs to come together, review the situation thoroughly and give a direction to the country to put the economy as well as administration back on track. Naidu said, TDP would take this initiative and organise series of meetings with the slogan “Save India.”
