Hyderabad: Justice Chandrakumar of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday advised both teachers and students to take up meditation as means to achieve their goals in life. He was speaking as chief guest at the Teachers’ Day celebrations at Oasis School of Excellence, Raidurgam, on the outskirts of the city. He said that people should have a clear perception of their aims and aspirations in life and go about securing them with the help of meditation.
“Everyone should have a clear view of his or her life’s ambitions. The ideal means of going about achieving them is through meditation”, the judge observed, speaking in Telugu. He advised teachers and students to do meditation for at least one hour a day, which will help them improve their concentration. “If a teacher strives to achieve his goals by adopting the means of meditation, he can confidently go about taking a step closer to realising them, he said. Justice Chandrakumar pointed out that meditation would also provide relief from stress on account of various happenings during a day.
The judge recalled his close association with the teaching profession, to which his father, uncles, sister and brother-in-law belonged. He said these close relatives were his inspiration to rise in life and become a judge. The HC judge lit the traditional lamp and garlanded a portrait of former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. Several teachers and a large number of students attended the function.
