Hyderabad: City police Commissioner Anurag Sharma on Thursday said that permission to APNGOs meeting on September 7 at LB stadium was given on the basis of first come first served. Addressing a media meet, Anurag Sharma said that the association had applied for permission on August 20. The event is permitted and an announcement to that effect was made by the DCP VB Kamalasan Reddy after thoroughly looking into the proposal made by the association.
He reiterated that as the other supporters who wanted to conduct rallies in spite of the denied permission, the police announced ban on public meetings and rallies strictly without permission from the police till September 10. “We are prepared to give permission to pro-Telangana forces if they are willing to hold a public meeting, any day other than September 7,” the police chief averred.
When alleged it as a biased decision, Sharma made it clear by saying that since rallies are prohibited, the request of pro-T groups was denied. As APNGOs want to hold a public meeting of state government employees we decided to give permission since they approached us first.Sharma told reporters that apart from 11 companies of central paramilitary forces, police personnel from various districts in the state are being drawn to maintain law and order on September 7.
